４月５日の英文添削「日本語での解釈例」への挑戦として以下のものを書いてみました。講師のどなたかに添削して頂き結果を後日投稿します。これを機会によい英文が書けるようになりたいと思います。
An obviously new bride was receiving explanation from a clerk at the home appliances corner.
The clerk enthusiastically recommended an electrically timed egg cooker, saying, “Your husband’s boiled eggs would be just right when timed by this.”
The newlywed showed no interest. “Ah, I don’t need it,” she said, and continued, “John likes his eggs the way I do them. I look out the window and start boiling when the traffic light is green. When it turns to red, and green again, they’re done.”
She was in her happiest days supported by deep affection from her husband who accepted whatever she produced as they were.
