Three retired guys sat on a bench at a beach. “How did you get here?” the first asked the second.
The second man gave his story. He had a textile factory, and was doing pretty well for a long time. But the competition with other companies got fierce, when his water pipes burst, and ruined all his machinery. Fortunately, he was insured, so he retired and came there. He asked the same question to the first man.
The first man’s story was almost the same as that of the second one. His business was doing well for a long time, but when it began to go wrong, a fire broke out and he lost everything. Fortunately, he was insured, so he retired and came there. He asked the same question to the third man.
His situation was almost the same as that of the former two, but the origin which brought him the insurance money was a hurricane.
This was staggering to the former two. Each of them was, while telling his story, remembering the moment when he damaged the water pipes or set fire to his own factory, and one could clearly visualize what the other one had been doing in reality. They had suspected the third man to have the similar background as theirs. But it was clear that a hurricane couldn’t possibly be used for an insurance scam. They knew that some people receive the insurance money righteously, as a result of a genuine disaster, although they had never met face to face that kind of people in their lives. After looking at each other, they scrutinized the face of the third man, the first man they ever met who seemed to have righteously received the insurance money.
