英文添削に挑戦【英会話を電話、スマホ、スカイプで トークライン】

5月16日の英文添削「日本語での解釈例」への挑戦として以下のものを書いてみました。講師のどなたかに添削して頂き結果を後日投稿します。これを機会によい英文が書けるようになりたいと思います。

 

A Seattle chest X-ray worker noticed a seemingly familiar face in the line of persons being X-rayed.

 

Unsure of it, she asked the lady if she hadn’t already had an X-ray.

 

“Certainly, I’ve had three already,” the lady assured her.  And she continued, “The first didn’t help me, but after the second one I began feeling a lot better.  I have no reason to stop taking treatments, do I?”

 

At an early age of mass screening for tuberculosis, some people didn’t understand the difference between the examination and the treatment.  This lady was one of them.  Convinced that applying X-ray to her chest helps promote her health, she was in line for another irradiation, although she had already taken three.
