At my home, I often cut corners in preparing meals, and used frozen ready meals like TV dinner.  I realized one day that we need a healthier diet, and decided to make a lamb casserole using fresh meat from the butcher, fresh vegetable from the greengrocer and herbs from the garden.

After hours in the kitchen, I served it up to an expectant family.

It was highly evaluated from everyone.  “It tastes so good, Mum,” declared my son, “that if you hadn’t told me you made it yourself, I’d have thought it was one of the frozen ready meals.”

I did not always use frozen ready meals.  I sometimes cooked myself, but, since it was always done in haste, it must have been something no one in my family enjoyed.  My son, who had been fed frozen ready meals and my hassle-free cooking ever since he could remember, must have been insinuated that frozen ready meals taste good, while my cooking doesn’t.  Because the dish I painstakingly cooked that day tasted so good that he praised me saying that it was as if one of the frozen ready meals.
